My name is Masha and I'm from Berlin, Germany but currently live in Hong Kong to attend Li Po Chun United World College.
Growing up in a German-French family and being raised in a large city, having parents from both parts of Germany (former GDR/FRG) and thus experiencing cross-cultural ways of living from an early age on, I've always been interested in learning about new cultures. Hence, as cliché as it might sound, UWC was my dream school!
After boxing for a few years and trying out soccer, karate and swimming, I started playing volleyball in High School and (quite surprisingly) found my favorite sport in it!
Though, my description would feel incomplete without mentioning my passion for the outdoors. Ever since I was a little kid, I loved being in the woods, climbing the highest trees, watching all kinds of animals and stalking through fields of corn. Leaving my local woods and the tracking school I've been part of for the last few years, will probably be the hardest part of moving to Hong Kong for me.
I'll try to keep up writing on this blog in order to update my friends and family on my life's going-ons, but also as a vent for my thoughts and experiences. We’ll see how long I can keep that up because most UWC blogs seem to catch a plague and die after a month or so ;)
